Transient Ischemic Attack

Transient Ischemic Attack
A transient ischemic attack (TIA) is when blood flow to a certain part of the brain stops for a short period of time. A person will experience stroke-like symptoms for 1-2 hours and the symptoms may last up to up to 24 hours.
Transient Ischemic Attack is felt to be a warning sign that a true stroke may happen in the future if nothing is done to prevent it. Transient Ischemic Attack is also known as mini stroke, TIA or little stroke. It can be life threatening, fatal in many cases so never take such symptoms lightly. Seek medical attention immediately.
My Dad suffered a Transient Ischemic Attack a few days ago. He has a short memory loss that he would not remember what has happened the last few days. Thanks goodness he is alright and now in the hands of two medical doctors. My baby sister Esther shared a great tips with us for stroke patients. We did not practice on our Dad because we only got to know about this tip after he has treatment from the doctors.
Now that I have learned about this great tips, I would like to share them with all my readers. This can save lives.
A Needle can save the life of a stroke patient.
From a Chinese Professor .
Keep a sewing needle or a injection syringe in your home or in your purse. It is an an amazing and unconventional way to recover from stroke. Read this through as this can help to save someone life one of these days.
When a stroke strike, the capillaries in the brain will gradually burst so never move the patient. Moving the stroke patient will cause the capillaries to burst faster. Called for medical attention and while waiting, do the following :-
A sewing needle or a straight pin will work but an injection syringe will be the best.
1. Place the sewing needle or pin over a fire to sterilize it
2. Then prick the tip of all 10 fingers of the stroke patient. There is no specific acupuncture points, just prick about one mm from the fingernail.
3. Prick till blood comes out
4. If you don’t see blood that start to drip, then squeeze with your fingers to help the blood flow out from the stroke patient finger tips,
5. When all 10 fingers are bleeding, wait for a few minutes and the stroke patient will regain consciousness.
6. If the stroke patient’s mouth is crooked, then pull on his/her ears until they are red.
7. Then prick each ear lobe twice until two drops of blood comes out from each ear lobe.
8. After a few minutes, the stroke patient will regain consciousness.
Wait till the stroke patient regains consciousness and in normal state without any abnormal symptoms of stroke, then take the patient to the hospital or in some cases, wait for ambulance to arrive. You will need to revive the stroke patient that he/she regain normal state before sending him/her in the car or in the ambulance because a bumpy trip can cause all the capillaries in the brain to burst. And that will be fatal.
Another great tip is to keep some aspirin with you as this little pill can also help save a stroke patient’s life. But aspirin has to taken orally when the stroke patient is still conscious.
Share this with your family and friends and you can help save someone’s life someday.

Search Engine Ranking
Today, 29th February 2012 is a happy day for me. This date February 29 is a leap day, a date that only occurs every four years. A normal year has 365 days and in a Leap Year, it has 366 days. This additional day is added to the calendar in Leap Years as a corrective measure due to the reason that the earth does not orbit around the sun in precisely 365 days.
Not sure if this additional day in the year 2012 brings good karma or not but it does bring me great results. My websites www.icrochetandknit.com and www.windowspcsupportusa.com both received 1st placement ranking in all three major search engines that is Google Search Engine, Yahoo Search Engine and MSN Search Engine.
Google Search Engine did rank my website Windows PC Support USA in the 1st place ranking when it has my website indexed 7 months ago. It usually takes Google Search Engine a month to three months to index a site but somehow Google ranked this website of mine in just two weeks time. Windows PC Support USA was actually registered on 7th June 2011 and icrochetandknit was registered on 19th November 2011. It did rank 1st placing in Google Search Engine in December 2011 but did not get the ranking by Yahoo Search Engine till today. Perhaps Yahoo Search Engine and MSN Search Engine have a different way of ranking websites and also takes longer time to rank sites.
Nevertheless to say, today 29th February 2012 is a happy day for me that finally all the three major search engines ranked both my websites in 1st placement.
My third website www.lilian-eblog.com which is this blog site was registered on 24th February 2010 which makes it a two year old site. It did have 1st place Google Ranking till I gave all my time to Windows PC Support USA and now i Crochet and Knit that I have not been writing article for posting. I hope to get my crochet work in prospective soon and give some time to writing and posting articles for my viewers.
I like to say thank you very much to all my viewers in particularly my Farmville and Face book friends who have constantly been giving me great support. I really do have very awesome Farmville friends.
I also like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy Leap Year!

Labor Day in United States of America
Labor Day in the United States of America is held annually on the first Monday of September so this year, Labor Day will be on 5th September 2011. Originally this day is organized to celebrate various labor associations’ strengths and contributions to the United States economy.
Labor Day was intended that the day be filled with street parade, allowing the public to appreciate the work of the tread and labor organizations. In our modern times, it is day of rest for the American. Labor Day also mark as the end of the summer season and many people in America take it as the last chance to make trips, outdoor events and barbecue time.
The first Labor Day was held in 1882 and it was the desire of the Central Labor Union to create a holiday for workers. In 1894 it was gazetted as a Federal Holiday. During the historical times, there was parade and a festival was held to amuse local workers and their families. There were speeches made by prominent men and women but it has become less common now. We do see them during election years though.
Since it was declared as Federal Holiday, all Government offices, schools, organizations and many businesses are closed on this day. Many people take Labor Day as a day of rest or enjoy the day with their family. Some public celebrations like firework displays, picnics and barbecues are organized. This has now become a low key event because of our current economy.
Labor Day is a day of rest and the last chance for many people in America to go on trips before summer ends. As for students, it is the last chance for them to organize parties before school term starts again. Many football teams play their first game of the year on Labor Day or during Labor Day weekend. In some neighborhoods, people organize barbecues, public arts, sporting events and display fireworks to celebrate Labor Day.
For those people who were affected by the Hurricane Irene, I do hope that they will have the spirit to enjoy Labor Day with their family and loves one. May God bless you and Happy Labor Day to all !!

Hurricane Irene
Posted by Lilian
Hurricane Irene has hit Bahamas with a Category 3 and will be making a landfall on North Carolina tomorrow morning, 27th August 2011 at around 9am. It is reported that Hurricane Irene will weakened slightly to a Category 2 storm as it approached the U.S East Coast. There is a possibility that the storm may re-strengthen itself to a near threshold between a Category 2 and 3 storm as it reaches North Carolina’s coast.
Hurricane warning was extended to New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Delaware and Maryland with mandatory evacuation. This massive storm is expected to track farther inland, threatening 65 million people who are in the path of Hurricane Irene. Hurricane Irene will be heading to the Eastern Seaboard from North Carolina right up to New England.
It will be a storm surge all the way up the coast which will result in flash floods in many areas. Mass transit will be disrupted across the Northeast and Amtrak will be suspending it service along much of the East Coast. Airlines will be cancelling thousands of its flights.
For those people who are in the path of Hurricane Irene, please do follow the advice of your local authorities. Start packing and evacuate at soon as possible before Hurricane Irene make its landfall tomorrow. Do not take this lightly as Hurricane Irene will be a historic storm. There were countless of remarks and comments posted on the internet saying that the authorities are making a big issue over an ordinary storm. I find these remarks and comments very disturbing and hurried to write this article. It is not an ordinary storm so please do not under estimate Hurricane Irene. It will be a major storm and may take many lives.
Do yourself and your love ones a favor. Evacuate as soon as possible when you still have the chance. You do not want to be stranded in your home and worrying the worst when Hurricane Irene makes it landfall. Whether it is going to be a Category 2 or 3, it is not so much the wind but the sea water. This storm surge will raise water level from 4 – 11 ft resulting in flash floods. Trees will be down with this massive wind and soil weakened by rain along with power outages.
For those of you who are in this massive storm path, do pack up, turned off the power in your home, locked up your house and head off to the evacuation center closest to your home if you do not have friends or family member who can house you for a few days. With Mass transit, Airlines suspending their services, New York City’s biggest subway system ordered to shut down and bridges closed will mean that this storm should not to be taken lightly.
For those people who may be a little away from the path of Hurricane Irene, do stock up food that will last you and your family for at least 3- 4 days. It will be a good to stock up some water, save up some fresh water in pails for washing and cleaning because you will never know if water supply will be disrupted too. You may also want to stock up with some batteries, torchlights, candles, generators and other supplies.
To all Eastern friends and residents, please do STAY SAFE and I pray that Hurricane Irene will be gentle on us.

Banana Bread
Posted by Lilian
Banana is the fruit of warm climatic countries and they are mainly grown in Asian countries. It is believed that banana originated from Malaysia because there are so many varieties of bananas found there today.
Banana is a good source of fiber, rich in vitamin C and potassium. It has 16% fiber, 15% Vitamin C and 11% potassium that are needed for good health in our daily life. It contains no fat, cholesterol and sodium. An average size banana has approximately 108 calories.
Banana is noted for its first class handover cure, stabilizes blood pressure and soothes heartburn. The skin of banana can be used as fertilizer for your plants. Banana makes perfect food for babies weaning to solid food. I love banana because I personally love fruits of all kind.
Last weekend I decided to make banana bread with the three over ripped bananas that were hanging on my banana stand. The main ingredient in the making of banana bread is banana. I took a few pictures of my baked banana bread and posted a copy at the wall of my Face book. Some friends messaged me for the recipe so here’s my Banana Bread recipe.

Atlantic City, Boardwalk
Posted by Lilian
Atlantic City in New Jersey is a fun and excitement city. It is also known as the City that never sleeps. Atlantic City is a nationally renowned resort city for gambling, shopping and fine dining. This city also served as the inspiration for the board game Monopoly.
There were miles and miles of Boardwalk that starts at Absecon Inlet and runs along the beach for at least four miles to the city limit. Another one and half miles of Boardwalk extend into Ventnor City. Here you can find Casino/hotels front the boardwalk with retail stores, restaurants and amusement centre. Two notable attractions are the Boardwalk Hall and the Ripley’s Believe It or Not museum.
Over the years, the Boardwalk has been home to several piers. One interesting Pier is the Steel Pier located opposite Trump Taj Mahal which is used as an amusement pier. The Pier Shops at Caesars Casino is a shopping mall and the Garden Pier is home to the Atlantic City Historical Society and Art Center. Trump Taj Mahal is owned by America famous business icon Donald Trump.
Atlantic City has many different shopping districts and malls. These malls are mostly located inside or adjacent to the casino resorts. The major shopping malls are located in and around Atlantic City. There are so many casinos that I lost count of them but my favorite two are the Bally Casino and the Caesars Casino and of course when comes to Eat all you can Buffet that serve succulent crab legs, the Resort casino is the one. I just love the crab legs and we ate there twice during our one week vacation at the Atlantic City.
We have a Studio Time Share unit with Flagship Resort which is a 32 storey high-rise building and we stayed on the 26 floor looking out to the marina and the ocean. I love the beautiful view looking out from our balcony.
We went fishing but only three people in our group can keep their catch. Any fish that is less than 18 inches is consider illegal to keep so fishes that most of us caught have to go back to the sea because they were under 18 inches. The keepers are three sea bass. One of our groups caught a sting ray and a star gazer but they have to release them back to the sea. We saw a very huge leatherback turtle that was swimming at the surface of the water. Lots of seagulls that follow our boat and they were fed with left over fish and squid baits that we actually feed off our hands. That is really interesting!
We went for a theatre show at the Resort Casino Hotel that was screening the Believe Divas in a Man’s world featuring seven of the world’s finest celebrity & female impersonators. They took the roles of famed entertainment icons Cher, Prince, Liza Minnelli, Bette Midler, Lady Gaga, Patti Labelle and Joan Rivers as host extraordinaire. The cast members are Steven Andrade as Cher and Frank. I love the show. It was fun, full of laughter and hilarious.
All these sound interesting to you? Make a trip there to Atlantic City and your vacation will be full of fun, excitement and a care free holiday for you, your family and your love ones.

National Ice Cream Day
Posted by Lilian
Today Sunday 17th July is National Ice Cream Day! It dates back to the Presidency of Ronald Reagan in the year 1984. President Ronald Reagan declared July to be the National Ice Cream Month. The third Sunday of July was set aside for eating creamy frozen treats.
The International Ice Cream Association quoted that the US Ice Cream Industry generates billions of dollars in annual sales which in turn generated thousands of jobs for the citizen of America. A good 9 percent of all milk produced by US Dairy farmers is used in the making of Ice Cream. This contributes significantly to the economical growth of the Nation’s Dairy Industry.
According to static, each American consumes an average of 23.2 quarts of Ice Cream, Ice Milk, Sherbet, Ices and other commercially related produce of frozen Dairy products. The highest consumption of Ice Cream is Northern Central States of America with a record of 41.7 quarts per person.
Ice Cream is a treat that most people in particularly children love. It is a welcoming treat that is most enjoy eating during the summer months. Ice Cream is a treat that is enjoyed anytime through the year even during winter. It is said that when you eat Ice Cream during the winter months, it actually helps to regulate your body system to adapt to the climatic temperature around you. It is something like the Eskimo living in an Ice Igloo during the freezing winter season.
If you have not taken notice that more Ice Cream is sold on a Sunday than any other day of the week. Try to observe this today and any other Sunday. Today many grocery stores, eateries and Ice Cream Parlors offer more variety of Ice Cream in terms of flavors to honor this National Ice Cream Day. Some stores also give away freebies to children.
One such shop is Carvel. They are giving away a free cup of soft serve Ice Cream or Cone with an adult purchase so kids get your parent to Carvel Ice Cream shop for a free Ice Cream on the house. You may want to look out for your favorite Ice Cream shop. They may have some special offers for you today.
My favorite Ice Cream is Monkey Bite from Cold Stone, Rocky Road and Snickers from Breyers. What is your favorite Ice Cream?
Happy National Ice Cream Day !

Traditionally, Feng Shui was used mainly to orient buildings in an auspicious manner. It is determined by reference to local features such as bodies of water, stars or a compass. Today, Feng Shui is practiced not only by the Chinese but it has gained its popularity with the Westerners.
Now back to our Webmaster Day. It is a day to “Take your Webmaster to Lunch Day”. It is a day to show your appreciation to your Webmaster for doing a good job with your website. Since I am my own webmaster who built my own website, I should think I deserve a good lunch. *Smile*
According to Feng Shui, it will bring you positive chi if you hang a clear and round, faceted quartz crystal with a nine inches red string, thread, ribbon or yarn above your personal computer. It is believed that it will bring clear thinking and a big boost of creativity. For business computer, hang a large and faceted crystal ball in the center of the computer room or above a work station. It will help to disperse negative chi and generated positive chi. It will activate a smooth and prosperous flow of data and communications. It will also eliminate troubles stemming from any cyber system.
For those of you who have engaged a Webmaster to design, build and maintain your website, take that crystal gem to lunch will save you some $$$ in the long run.
